6 Contract with a local Authority
Job Purpose
* To lead in the delivery of specialist interventions aimed at preventing re-offending among high-risk young people, providing expert assessments, case management, and multi-agency coordination to support positive outcomes and community safety.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
* Manage a caseload of youth justice cases, including out of court disposals and statutory court orders, in accordance with the National Standards and HMIP Inspection Framework.
* Apply the Child First, Offender Second approach to support children and young people in completing their disposals/orders and leading a crime-free life.
* Communicate effectively with children, young people, their families, and relevant partners to secure the best outcomes.
* Prioritize equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practices throughout all work areas.
* Use AssetPlus as an assessment and planning tool, focusing on trauma-informed practice to support desistance from offending.
* Collaborate with children, young people, families, and partner agencies to deliver evidence-based interventions to reduce offending and disengagement from education, employment, and training.
* Prepare Pre-Sentence, Stand-Down, and Referral Order Panel Reports as required.
* Represent Youth Justice and present information to Courts.
* Engage effectively to deliver interventions that ensure safety for children, young people, and others.
Essential Experience Needed
* Advanced knowledge of Youth Work is essential.
