This will be our boots on the ground, our eyes and ears, working closely with our contractors who build our FTTH / FTTP network, ensuring builds progress, driving for quality, resolving and reporting updates, risks, issues, etc into our Project Managers.
For this role we are looking for hands on fibre engineering experience – eg fibre splicing and testing, you will be able to talk through how a FTTH / FTTP network is built and operates and / or the ins and outs of civils and Streetworks, etc.
This role sits in our In Life function, who support solutions for diversions, network extensions, MDUs and other project work.
Key Accountability & Responsibilities
Act as a subject matter expert to trouble shoot, diagnose and carry out any escalated break fix or maintenance issues – hands on fibre engineering
Drive the delivery of the allocated work programmes across the team in order to meet targets
Ensure contractor’s adherence to Quality and Health & Safety standards
Take ownership of risk and issues and provide / carry out solutions to special engineering difficulties
Build excellent stakeholder relationships with Highways Authority, ensuring that statutory legislation is adhered to
Customer facing, ensure management of any customer complaints, working to resolve any issues in a timely manner
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of FTTP construction, design, installation and fault fix
Fibre experience – joint splicing & testing
Civils experience – management of trenching and reinstatement works
Previous performance management experience of 3rd party contractors
Knowledge of NRSWA / SROH
Experience of PIA
Surveying knowledge
Previous experience in a leadership or management role highly desirable
Ideally previous experience of building excellent working relationships with Local Authorities
Education & Qualifications
Full driving licence (manual)
NRSWA accreditations, operative, supervisor
Hold or be able to pass a DBS check
