About the role
This job supports a risk management framework that helps BT Group be smart with risk, making informed decisions that enable a progressive, trusted and resilient company that connects for good. In performing assurance over our major customer contracts, the role also helps the business connect for good by being a trusted, critical friend. To protect the business by identifying risk in advance and ensuring oversight of those accountable to address the risk.
This role can be based in Birmingham or London. Working 3 days a week in the office and 2 days working from home.
You'll have the following responsibilities
* Contribute to the formulation and delivery of the annual assurance plan for the GRC
* Support the Units in applying and embedding the Key Controls, sharing best practice and providing guidance to help bring it to life
* Support and deliver assurance assessments, advising on risk mitigation actions
* Provide written reports and actions as a result of assurance activity &/or findings from risk investigations
* Provide support on initiatives associated with Major Contracts GRC Assurance and/or Advisory & Consultancy activity/projects
* Analyse datasets and information to support/underpin risk and assurance investigations
* Provide support to programme /project/actions initiatives that the Major Contracts GRC team are involved in
* Providing support for the GRC as set out in the GRC Framework and the GRC best practice .
You'll have the following skills and experience
* Assurance management and reporting outcomes
* Risk, Control and Governance experience
* Communication skills, including report writing
* Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders creating an open, supportive, positive work environment that encourages collaboration within the Major Contracts community.
* Ability to organise and prioritise time to deliver outcomes to agreed timescales
* Analytical skills. Data investigation capability that supporting risk investigations
* Curiosity, particularly in terms of understanding of the value drivers of the business and applying that to the work carried out by the Major Contract second line team
* Experience in supporting bids and in life contract delivery and understanding contractual obligations
* Some specialist knowledge in areas of bid/contracts, such as Security, Delivery, Legal, Finance
