Overview

Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated Band 6 Clinical Lead to recruit at Ancora House the in-patient child and adolescent mental health service. Ancora House has 2 inpatient wards, Coral and Indigo. They provide person centered acute care for young people aged 14-18.

You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team and you will be required to work on a rotational shift basis, which includes days, nights, and twilight shifts. The post offers the successful applicant the exciting opportunity to join this team in providing the highest quality of care for our service users.

Ancora House is based on the Countess of Chester Health Park Site approximately 1.5 miles from Chester city centre.

Main duties of the job

To support the Ward Manager and the MDT in delivering a high quality Mental Health Service for young people. The applicant must work within set objectives which reflect the direction of the service and the Trust. To provide clinical leadership within the ward team to promote a high standard of patient care. Provide management support, deputising for the Ward Manager in their absence. The post holder will act as a source of expertise within the ward and wider hospital.

The individual must be able to demonstrate an understanding and application of the 6 C\'s in practice, these being Care; Compassion; Competence; Communication; Courage and Commitment.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* NMC Registered Nurse RMN or RGN.
* Evidence of Continued Professional development.


Knowledge and Expertise

* High level of clinical expertise.
* Understanding and appreciation of national policy and health/social care issues.
* Clear understanding of social inclusion/equality/diversity.
* Ability to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries.
* Knowledge of cultural diversity within the healthcare setting.
* Awareness of current mental health issues, debates and practice.
* Knowledge and understanding of physical health needs.
* A willingness to undertake further training.
* Knowledge of the MHA and MCA


Experience

* Relevant, post-qualifying experience at band 5.
* Experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment.
* Working with service users with severe mental health problems utilising user/carer involvement.
