NCE Offshore Technical Sales Management is anchored in Vestas Technology & Operations, where new product ideas and technologies are developed, matured, tested, and improved.
Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) represents Vestas' entire industrial system from Technology to Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality. Our department is the offshore-focused arm of our Vestas Technology & Operations - NCE regional organization, providing the link between our regional business unit and our customers’ needs towards the central technology and Research & Development (R&D) team, responsible for global product development in Vestas.
The Lead Support Structure Engineer role requires technical skills within the area of offshore engineering and project management. You will work within the Offshore Technical Sales Management team, in direct interface with the commercial Sales teams, Construction project management teams, our customers as well as central engineering functions, to deliver the best possible technical solution for our offshore customers.
Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for the site-specific integrated load analysis, tower and foundation design process for the offshore projects. You will work with the customer and the customer's foundation designer for Vestas providing timely and optimized solutions, fulfilling customer needs and requirements and enabling efficient interfaces with Sales and Construction teams, the Customer, the foundation designer and Central Technical Functions. The role also includes:
1. Respond to customer enquiries, prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders in relation to the loads and support structure area
2. Evaluate and document tower and foundation optimization levers to improve project value while managing risks
3. Manage the orchestration of site-specific Integrated Load Analysis (ILA) process working in collaboration with external as well internal stakeholders
4. Ensure customer alignment with regards to the tower/foundation design process as well as optimization for the given project conditions
5. Be the interface to the project design certifier and manage the project design certification activities. Identify market requirements and trends to promote product, tool, and process development
6. Advance support structure functional excellence via strong focus on regional and global support structure improvement initiatives
7. Strengthen and promote in-house capabilities for performing analysis for foundation design to strategically use the conclusions in technical and commercial context through alignment with relevant stakeholders
Qualifications
8. B.Sc. or M.Sc. within a relevant field of engineering
9. Experience within offshore loads or support structure design domain
10. Previous experience in wind energy
11. Fluency in business English both spoken and written would be required; additional Scandinavian or European languages would be an advantage
Competencies
12. Ability to work internationally, with large-scale industrial projects and demanding customers
13. Professional presentation skills with ability and confidence to present technical topics
14. Good communication skills. We prefer prior experience interacting with a variety of technical and commercial stakeholders
15. Commitment to delivering impressive results through collaborative teamwork and support
16. Knowledge of (offshore) turbine load evaluation and relevant standards within this area (IEC -1, IEC -3-1, etc.) is beneficial
17. Knowledge of (offshore) tower and foundation designs and relevant standards within this area (Eurocode 3, IEC -6, DNVGL-ST-6, etc.) is beneficial
18. In addition to technical, quantitative, and analytical skills, you will need to have customer focus and build a network and manage relationships with customers and their consultants
