Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for Registered Nurses with an interest in Women's Health to join the Gynaecology Assessment Unit (GAU) at the Royal Derby Hospital. You will work within a MDT to provide time-critical rapid assessment of women with early pregnancy complications and gynaecology issues, in collaboration with ED, midwifery and GP colleagues. Knowledge and experience in gynaecology and early pregnancy management is desirable.
We run a Gynaecology Assessment Unit (GAU) and Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU). Our unit delivers specialist, evidence-based, holistic care to women with early pregnancy complications and emergency gynaecological conditions.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will practice in a holistic, non-judgmental, caring and compassionate manner; work with other health and social care professionals, students and agencies; and contribute to practice development within their clinical setting. They will follow Trust Policies and complete any required work-based training. The post holder will liaise with the senior team to ensure effective communication and will contribute to the professional development of junior staff. They will work according to the NMC Code and be accountable for their own professional actions. The unit operates 7 days a week.
Shifts available are Monday - Friday 08:30 - 19:00, Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00, and Saturday and Sunday 08:30 - 16:30.
