This post is a fixed‑term secondment for 12 months, ending 27.06.27. Applicants must obtain permission from their current line manager before applying.
Responsibilities
* To undertake, as delegated by the School Nurse Band 6, school health surveillance, screening tests and health interviews in accordance with the Healthy Child Wales Programme.
* Participate in the prevention and control of infectious disease outbreaks and in the administration of immunisations, following policies and procedures.
* Provide support and advice to families regarding the health and welfare of their child.
* Undertake home visits delegated by the School Nurse Band 6, taking account of the Health Board Lone Worker Policy.
* Undertake health promotion activities in a variety of settings as delegated by the School Nurse Band 6.
* Be knowledgeable about the effects of chronic conditions on children and carers.
* Assist or support the School Nurse Band 6 in identifying health needs of a target area.

* Registered Nurse with Children specialisation (RN Children).
