Field Service Engineer Mechanical Bias
Are you a mechanically biased Field Service Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Service Technician looking for a home-based role with strong earning potential, plenty of autonomy, and a varied workload?
Were recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a well-established and respected business supplying and supporting garage equipment across London, the M25, and the Home Counties.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on engineer with experience in mechanical maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, lifting equipment, or similar service environments. Youll be working on customer sites, carrying out service, repair, fault finding, installation, and maintenance on a wide range of workshop equipment.
The Role
As a Mechanical Field Service Engineer, youll work from home and travel to customer sites across the region, supporting the service and repair of essential garage and workshop equipment.
Your duties will include:
* Servicing, maintaining, and repairing tyre changers, wheel balancers, and vehicle lifts
* Carrying out mechanical fault finding, diagnosis, and breakdown repair
* Working on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
* Completing planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work
* Installing and commissioning new equipment on customer sites
* Completing job reports electronically via tablet
* Liaising with the service department and customers professionally on-site
* Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
What Were Looking For
To be successful in this role, youll ideally have experience as a:
* Field Service Engineer
* Mechanical Engineer
* Service Engineer
* Maintenance Engineer
* Garage Equipment Engineer
* Hydraulic Engineer
* Workshop Engineer
* Lift Engineer
* Plant Engineer
* Mechanical Technician
Youll also need:
* A strong mechanical engineering background
* Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, or lifting equipment
* Previous experience in field service, maintenance, or workshop repair
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
* A practical, self-sufficient, hands-on approach
* Basic electrical knowledge would be useful, but is not essential
* A full UK driving licence
Experience working with garage equipment, vehicle lifts, plant equipment, workshop machinery, or related mechanical systems would be a real advantage.
