We are looking for an Support Officer to work from Brixham, supporting our Area Manager throughout Devon. This job is about fishermen and their families. You need to be able to walk alongside people in the good times and the bad. They will need you to offer guidance and answers that will offer practical solutions and make a real difference. The Role
This is a part time post for which 30 hours work per week is expected.
Place of Work: Home based with frequent travel to support the fishing communities of Devon (Some weekend and out of hours working may be required)
Role Summary
To provide support to clients of the Fishermen's Mission by assessing their welfare needs, completing applications, providing sign posting recommendations and completing referrals. This will be undertaken through a combination of digital and in-person support
To support the Area Manager in the development and maintenance of positive links with key statutory and voluntary section organisations across the region, promoting awareness of the Fishermen's Mission and developing potential routes to further support our clients.
To support community fundraising activities across the area which will include some evening and weekend work.

Please note that it would be usual that during the first week of employment the successful candidate will be expected to travel to our Head Office in Whiteley, Hampshire as part of the induction process.
