Overview
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Manufacturing Manager to oversee the end-to-end production of electronic controllers and ESCs using pre-supplied PCBAs. You will play a critical role in setting up and managing volume manufacturing operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and traceability from component receipt to final assembly, testing and shipping.
Key Responsibilities
* Production Oversight: Lead the initial upscaling of manufacturing operations, including layout planning, tooling selection, and process definition for volume electronic assembly.
* Production Oversight: Manage the day-to-day manufacturing operations for controller and ESC assembly.
* Production Oversight: Plan, schedule, and coordinate production batches to meet project timelines and quality targets.
* Production Oversight: Build and maintain efficient, repeatable assembly processes, detailed work instructions, and in-line quality checkpoints.
* Production Oversight: Integrate ERP/MRP data into production planning to ensure accurate lead times, work order tracking, and material availability.
Assembly & Testing
* Assembly & Testing: Perform and support hands-on manual and semi-automated assembly, including wiring, mechanical integration, and connector fitting.
* Assembly & Testing: Support the development, specification and implementation of functional test equipment for fully assembled units.
* Assembly & Testing: Handle ESD-safe environments and enforce proper handling procedures.
Supplier, Inventory & Logistics Management
* Supplier, Inventory & Logistics Management: Receive and inspect supplied PCBAs and components from vendors.
* Supplier, Inventory & Logistics Management: Organize inbound and outbound logistics including goods receiving, storage and shipment of finished goods.
* Supplier, Inventory & Logistics Management: Maintain inventory levels, BOM traceability, and work-in-progress status using spreadsheets or MRP tools.
* Supplier, Inventory & Logistics Management: Raise non-conformance reports for supplier defects and drive corrective actions.
Quality & Compliance (Manufacturing Support Focus)
* Quality & Compliance (Manufacturing Support Focus): Support the implementation and adherence to quality assurance systems.
* Quality & Compliance (Manufacturing Support Focus): Ensure manufacturing processes align with regulatory and compliance requirements.
* Quality & Compliance (Manufacturing Support Focus): Maintain accurate production records, including build logs, serial tracking, and traceability documentation to support audits and quality reviews.
Process Improvement
* Process Improvement: Continuously improve assembly techniques and production flow.
* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to reduce rework, improve yield, and prepare for scale-up.
* Process Improvement: Contribute to DFM (Design for Manufacturing) feedback loops with engineering.
* Process Improvement: Support lean initiatives and introduce process automation opportunities.
* Process Improvement: Strong understanding of PCBA handling, electro-mechanical assembly, and electronic testing.
* Process Improvement: Experience managing or implementing manual and semi-automated assembly processes.
* Process Improvement: Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials.
* Process Improvement: Hands-on experience with ERP or MRP systems for production planning, purchasing, and inventory control.
* Process Improvement: Working knowledge of quality management systems and ESD best practices.
* Process Improvement: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Process Improvement: Hands-on and willing to contribute directly to builds as required in early-stage production.
* Process Improvement: Familiarity with ESCs, motor control systems, or automotive/aerospace electronics.
* Process Improvement: Experience implementing lean manufacturing practices.
* Process Improvement: Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
* Process Improvement: Experience integrating logistics and procurement functions into ERP/MRP systems.
