SEND Education Support Assistant (1:1 SEMH & ASC) South Shields £13.68 per hour February 2026 Are you passionate about supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs? We are currently seeking a SEND Education Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil with SEMH and Autism (ASC) in an Outstanding-rated school in South Shields. The pupil is working at a lower level in Maths, English, and Science and requires tailored academic support alongside help with emotional regulation and behaviour. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver structured learning activities, provide reassurance and consistency, and help the pupil develop positive coping strategies. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is calm, empathetic, and committed to making a real difference.
