Job Description
Our client Leicester City Council is looking for a Childcare Social Worker to join their Children in Need team.
Responsibilities
* Works with children and families where additional support is needed to improve wellbeing and safety
* Completes Child in Need assessments and develops support plans
* Identifies risks, strengths, and needs within families
* Provides direct support and intervention to children and parents
* Monitors children's development, safety, and welfare through regular visits
* Works to prevent family breakdown and reduce escalation to child protection
* Coordinates services and support from education, health, and community agencies
* Attends multi-agency meetings, Child in Need reviews, and planning meetings
* Maintains accurate case records and statutory documentation
* Builds positive relationships with children and families to promote change
* Safeguards children in line with legislation, policies, and procedures
* Works collaboratively with professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people
