About the Role As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you’ll work closely with students who have additional learning needs, supporting them both academically and emotionally. You’ll collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to create a positive and engaging learning experience tailored to each child’s unique needs. Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN. Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students access the curriculum. Monitor and record student progress, sharing insights with teaching staff. Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment. Use creative and adaptive strategies to engage learners with diverse needs. Build strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families. Assist with personal care and emotional regulation when required. Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Previous experience in a Teaching Assistant or SEN support role. Understanding of a range of special educational needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed. Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential). To Apply, You’ll Need: The right to work in the UK.
