Co-ordinate and source a programme of work experience activities, including internships assessing the practical skills of students, in order to match them to the most suitable available industry placement appropriate to their course.
The following is an indication of the type and level of the main priorities expected of this role as directed by your line manager and is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties or tasks:
1. Co-ordinate and source external and internal work placements for students, pro-actively seeking out and engaging with new employers, to increase the range and breadth of placements available for students, including those with a range of learning difficulties and/ or disabilities, including visiting new employers to identify placement opportunities, arranging and attending work placement interviews with students and conducting Health & Safety checks of placements.
2. Assess the practical skills of student both in the work place and at the College as necessary, undertaking and reviewing health and safety risk assessments drawn up at external employers premise for each individual student to ensure their safety whilst on work placements.
