The Role:
As a Laser Applications Development Engineer, you will:
Laser Applications Development:
Interpret customer and project requirements to define processing strategies.
Set up and configure laser and optical systems for optimal material interaction.
Develop and refine laser processes through hands-on experimentation.
Analyse and report on test results, ensuring robust documentation throughout.Customer Engagement:
Provide technical support to internal sales teams.
Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers.Collaboration with Engineering Teams:
Work with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to align process requirements with machine design.
Assist with process commissioning and customer acceptance testing on-site (occasional global travel required).What we're looking for:
Essential:
A degree in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
3+ years' experience in a research or development role.
Strong understanding of lasers, optics, and laser materials processing.
Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
Innovative mindset with a drive to enhance process efficiency.
Team player with strong communication skills.Desirable:
Master's or PhD in a relevant subject.
