As a Payroll Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees across UK and Ireland. Working closely with the Payroll and Purchase Ledger Supervisor, you'll help maintain smooth payroll operations and uphold compliance standards.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
1. Verifying and processing weekly expenses
2. Processing weekly engineer timesheets and calculating overtime
3. Assisting in the preparation of monthly payrolls
4. Ensuring compliance with UK and Irish statutory requirements
5. Responding to payroll-related employee queries
6. Maintaining confidentiality and data protection at all times
You'll be a confident communicator with great attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
Experience includes...
7. Experience in an administrative role within payroll, finance, HR or an office environment
8. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Outlook)
9. Basic understanding of payroll processes and statutory deductions
10. The ability to work to regular deadlines in a cyclical environment
11. A willingness to learn and develop payroll systems knowledge
12. Previous experience in a payroll or finance-related role
13. Knowledge of UK and/or Irish payroll legislation (advantageous)
14. Familiarity with payroll software
