As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards across our Concrete, Asphalt and Quarry product ranges. About the Role You will be responsible for carrying out sampling, field testing and specimen preparation across a range of construction materials, all in accordance with relevant British/European standards and company procedures. Working as part of a supportive technical team, you will operate with remote supervision, maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Material Sampling & Testing Perform sampling, field testing and specimen preparation for Concrete, Asphalt and Quarry products. Complete all tasks in line with British/European standards and internal procedures. Assist with the safe transportation of test specimens between sites and laboratories. Investigations & Quality Assurance Investigate quality issues at production sites, plants and depots. Provide feedback to Technical and Operations teams to support continual improvement. Conduct investigations including: Concrete sampling, testing and preparation Asphalt sampling, testing and preparation Aggregate sampling, testing and preparation Customer site or plant practice reviews Product consistency checks Review of truck delivery practices Review of water demands in Ready-Mix Concrete (including M.C testing) Standards, Safety & Reporting Raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and Near Hits where appropriate. Challenge unsafe or poor-quality behaviours to support a strong safety culture. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all work is performed to company compliance standards. What We're Looking For Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach. Ability to work as part of a team with remote supervision. Good communication skills and confidence in providing feedback. A proactive approach to safety, quality and continuous improvement. Experience in construction materials testing is beneficial but not essential-full training can be provided.
