Project Manager

A leading contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a major £20m+ project in Plymouth. This is a key site-based role, managing the delivery of a high-profile scheme and leading a full site team, with extensive client liaison and reporting.
As the Project Lead, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality. You will be the main point of contact for the client and play a crucial role in developing strong working relationships, whilst delivering this landmark scheme within programme and budget.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the overall delivery of a £20m+ construction project
2. Manage site teams, subcontractors, and all on-site staff
3. Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes using Asta Powerproject
4. Chair progress meetings and liaise with clients and consultants
5. Oversee quality, safety, and compliance across the project
6. Monitor project progress, risks, and financial performance
7. Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and site controls
8. Report directly to the Construction Director
About You
9. Strong background in main contracting and modern construction methods
10. Proven experience delivering large-scale projects (£10m+)
11. Excellent client liaison and communication skills
12. Confident in programming and planning with Asta
13. Able to lead, motivate, and coordinate site teams
14. Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities
Qualifications
15. Relevant construction/engineering qualifications (desirable)
16. SMSTS
17. CSCS Black or White Card preferred
18. First Aid at Work
