Health, Safety and Environment Manager

Our client, a successful and dynamic Pharmaceutical Manufacturing company, is currently seeking a

Health, Safety and Environment Manager to join their highly successful and dynamic Pharmaceutical Manufacturing site in Great Yarmouth.

As a rapidly expanding business our client is looking for a highly motivated individual to support the safety-first culture and drive the development of our HSE systems and processes ensuring we are equipped to meet new challenges and opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

1. A proven track record in leading HSE in a manufacturing environment – in particular, a process environment where CoSHH and DSEAR are relevant.
2. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
3. Ability to develop and deliver an Environmental Management System.
4. Experienced in risk assessment & UK legal requirements.
5. Proven change-agent and leadership qualities to operate within the wider Group.
6. Must possess excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

7. Providing support to production leadership in the execution of their EHS responsibilities.
8. Ensuring the HSE strategy is maintained, effective, and continuously improved.
9. Operate as a member of the senior management team, coaching and challenging as appropriate.
10. Developing, maintaining, improving, and delivering the HSE policy and procedures with focussing on prevention and risk reduction.
11. Maintaining the Legal Register, taking action to ensure compliance with applicable legislation.
12. Responsibility for monitoring changes and trends in HSE areas.
13. Advising and supporting plant management in the HSE policy (goals, year plan, reviews).
14. Analysing data and reports as necessary for corrective / preventive actions.
15. Being pro-active in implementing initiatives and identifying gaps.
16. Developing HSE campaigns and training to promote awareness and increase compliance.
17. Organising self-assessments / audits and recommending improvements.
18. Participating actively in investigation of incidents, and occupational illnesses.
19. Establishing and maintaining an effective Environmental Compliance process.
20. Establishing and maintaining effective Industrial Hygiene programs and systems.
21. Coordination of HSE training (internal and external).
22. Maintaining the Health surveillance programme.

23. Competitive salary, salary reviewed annually with an annual bonus payable in May depending on Company performance
24. Holiday is 25 days less 4 to cover Christmas closure plus bank holidays
25. Pension offered at 5%, increasing to 6% after 5 years’ service, this is offered on a matched / salary exchange basis.
