My retained client is seeking a competent Head Chef who is motivated and has a real passion for food. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Head Chef or be a strong Sous Chef looking for their first Head Chef role. This popular gastro pub is located on the outskirts of a beautiful Suffolk town, accessible from Ipswich and Woodbridge. It features a 50-cover restaurant and a small outdoor seating area for summer, serving breakfast, lunch, and early evening meals.
The restaurant specializes in seasonal, traditional British cuisine made in-house, focusing on local produce and food provenance. It is always busy and committed to great service.
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for menu planning, stock management, and staff training. You should be passionate, dedicated, and willing to give 110%. Requirements include experience in a fresh food establishment, high hygiene and safety standards, staff development, and maintaining high catering standards. The role reports directly to the line manager. The ideal candidate will excel in food cost control and raising standards.
Working hours are a maximum of 45 hours per week, with a salary of £37K plus tips.
