Job Summary

The Project Engineer is to ensure delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule. This post will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.

Responsibilities include defining the work scope, maintaining stakeholder communications, securing resources, driving timely and safe delivery, monitoring progress, developing project plans and cost control, and managing changes with appropriate documentation.

* Define the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme
* Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders and execute project strategies within their contract or package of work
* Assist in securing the required resources to meet project requirements
* Drive the delivery of contract or package activities safely, on time, to budget, meeting business and technical requirements
* Monitor and manage progress of the programme; provide reports on milestones, deadlines and budget to key stakeholders
* Develop, manage and update project and programme plans with the project controls team, including costing, WBSs, resource management, cost management of risk and critical path review
* Manage change control for scope changes using correct processes and update configuration documentation

Preferred Profile

* Minimum of HND in Management, Economics, Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or related subject
* APM Practitioner Qualification or Equivalent
* Chartership status through a recognised international body
* Experience engaging groups of stakeholders
* Experience on projects in high hazard industries including Nuclear, Energy, Rail, Oil & Gas and Aviation
* Understanding of contract types such as NEC and FIDIC
* Knowledge of CDM regulations

Important Information

* Visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed case-by-case based on role criticality and project needs.
* Many UK projects require high-level security clearance; an indefinite right to work in the UK is often required.
* Exceptionally, visa sponsorship may be considered for applicants with niche experience aligned to core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).
