Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager
Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £65,000 per annum + Car allowance
The Role:
• Deliver mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover
• Manage multiple mechanical projects simultaneously at a senior delivery level
• Report directly to the Mechanical Director
• Attend project handover meetings and take ownership of projects post-award
• Coordinate design development with internal teams, external designers, and mechanical consultants
• Review mechanical and electrical packages, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
• Procure materials, plant, and specialist subcontract services in line with programme and budget
• Coordinate labour resources, including direct labour and subcontractors
• Manage RFIs, technical submittals, drawing registers, and approval processes
• Ensure coordinated working drawings and plant schedules are produced to the required standard
• Manage project programmes, progress reporting, and stakeholder communication
• Control project costs, valuations, variations, and cash flow
• Attend progress meetings, design coordination workshops, and lifecycle reviews
• Act as the main point of contact for project delivery

The Ideal Candidate:
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager
• Track record delivering mechanical building services projects valued between £500k and £5m
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical services including heating, ventilation, cooling, plant, pipework, and domestic services
• Experience delivering both design & build and pre-designed mechanical projects
• Good commercial awareness, particularly around variations, procurement, and cost control
