HGV Class 1 Driver

About the Role
We are currently seeking reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently between depots, RDCs, and client sites, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, with the option to work on a self-employed basis during the temporary period. Successful candidates will transition to PAYE employment upon securing a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely operate Class 1 vehicles to transport goods between depots, RDCs, and client locations
* Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly
* Ensure timely deliveries while maintaining accurate documentation
* Comply with all transport legislation, including drivers' hours and Working Time Directive
* Provide excellent customer service when representing the company
Requirements
* Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
* Digital Tachograph Card
* Valid Driver CPC
* Minimum of 6–12 months’ Class 1 driving experience
* Good understanding of UK road transport regulations
* Strong reliability and time management skills
* Be able to provide a fully checkable 5-year employment and/or education history
* Successfully complete criminal record checks in line with CAA security regulations (DBS and/or PCC).
Shift Patterns & Work Types
* Regular Nights: Sunday to Thursday
* Regular Days: 4 on 4 off or Monday to Friday
* Late Night / Evening Shifts Available
* Work includes trunking, store deliveries, or multidrop (depending on assignment)
