Working as the Health & Safety Officer you will provide an operational H&S & Wellbeing Service to the Business to enable effective, efficient & cost-effective delivery of quality product & service to customers working to company process standards & operating procedures. As the Health & Safety Officer you will be responsible for providing detailed & expert advice for, and manage, and coordinate on H&S matters including: Fire / Fire Marshals First Aiders Noise Working conditions Safeguarding Machinery DUTIES Your duties as a Health & Safety Officer will include: Strategy Work with the HR Manager & other members of the Leadership & Management Teams to create & deliver short, medium & long term operational H&S & wellbeing strategies Be the champion for H&S continuous improvement & leading Business wide improvement strategies Support the HR Manager with project actions & delivery of any key Business initiatives identified KPI’s Deliver targets & ensure KPI’s are met for Business growth & success Analyse & control H&S targets in accordance with the budget & data Prepare & deliver weekly / monthly H&S KPI’s to the Management Team Operations Work with the HR Manager to devise & deliver the H&S & Wellbeing Strategy, aligning to overall Business Plans & objectives Be the primary point of contact for & drive & deliver the Company’s H&S Policies, Procedures & agenda H&S related training including SOP’s Ensure all accidents, incidents & near misses are investigated & associated paperwork (including RIDDOR) is completed & submitted to the relevant regulatory body & management updated Complete regular inspections & audits to ensure compliance to legislative requirements, reporting any failures back to management Ensure any corrective actions are followed through on & management updated Review & update Risk Assessments & Method Statements ensuring minimal risk exposure Coordination of the Company H&S Committee & meetings including completion of minutes Liaison with external contractors & advisors, keeping up to date with current & pending legislation to ensure H&S standards are met & maintained Ensure the Company complies with all relevant H&S regulations Manage & regularly review H&S systems CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment Previous experience working in a H&S role Experience of working in the window industry a distinct advantage Recognised professional H&S qualification such as degree, NEBOSH & IOSH Working knowledge of H&S management process systems Self-motivated and focused, with a flexible attitude Good attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy & a commitment to quality Able to work on & use own initiative & problem solve Strong communication, team working & people skills Demonstrate a professional & courteous attitude Act with integrity & honesty Positive attitude to innovation & change Looking to build a career in a fast-growing business BENEFITS Pay grading structure Regular pay reviews Monthly attendance bonus scheme (Up to £1,040.00 per annum) Enhanced 32 Days holiday per annum pro rata Christmas shutdown Christmas vouchers Staff events Pension scheme Staff canteen with subsidised vending machines BUPA Employee Assistance Programme Company workwear and PPE provided Onsite secure parking Commitment to investing in training and development HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
