Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will be accountable to the Clinical Director and General Manager for Ophthalmology. You will be expected to work closely with the Service Manager and Rota Coordinator for Ophthalmology Services. In addition you will be expected to work directly with:
• Clinical Lead for Intravitreal Service
• Medical Retina Service team
• Matron and senior nursing team
• Ophthalmology administrative team
• Pharmacy Department
• Information Department
• IT Department

Qualifiations
Essential criteria
* Good general education GCSE or equivalent in English Grade C or above
Desirable criteria
* NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or customer care or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of patient/customer care administration
Desirable criteria
* Previous NHS experience
Skills / Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Experience dealing with patient/customer queries
* Ability to prioritise tasks effectively without direct supervision
* Ability to manage a varied workload effectively
* Knowledge of databases and spreadsheets
Desirable criteria
* Dealing with complaints
* Knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes
