People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Control Systems Engineer to join our client based in West Bromwich, West Midlands.

Shifts
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours per week)
Salary
Dependent on experience (estimated £50,000 – £60,000 per annum)

Day-to-Day Duties
Diagnose and rectify control system failures (maintenance)
Design, specify, and install control and safety systems (PLCs, BPCS, SIS, DCS, SCADA, HMI, etc.)
Review and approve Management of Change (MOC) proposals and implement programming modifications
Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers, system integrators, and contractors
Maintain a safe operating culture and ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, and company requirements
Assist in the development and training of department resources in control systems
Essential Skills
HNC in Controls, Electronic, or Instrumentation Engineering
Minimum 5 years' post-HNC practical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Proficiency with Allen Bradley control systems (RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View)
Knowledge of BS/IEC 61003, 61131, 61508, 61511, and 62443 standards
Understanding of functional safety, SIL, LOPA, and Safety Instrumented Systems
Familiarity with project and engineering documentation (Cause & Effect diagrams, Loop Drawings, Control Philosophy, Electrical Schematics, URS, FDS, Datasheets)
Experience with communication protocols (Industrial Ethernet, DH+, Modbus, ProfiNet, Serial)
Flexible approach to managing multiple complex tasks simultaneously
Desirable Experience
Prior experience in chemical manufacturing, large-scale processes, Hazardous Areas (ATEX), and Intrinsic Safety
Instrumentation engineering experience
Knowledge of OT Cyber Security, IIOT, and AI
Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar engineering drawing software
Training Provided
