We are supporting a well-funded, rapidly growing Bristol-based organisation operating in a highly regulated, project-led environment. Due to a period of sustained growth, increased financialplexity and uing reporting milestones, the finance team requires additional short-term senior support.
This is a critical interim financial controller hire to strengthen day-to-day financial control, maintain reporting cadence and support senior stakeholders while longer-term plans are progressed. This role has been created to support the CFO during a busy period for the business and take away some of the essential BAU day-to-day finance tasks from them, so they can focus onmercial/ strategy.
The RoleReporting to a senior finance lead, the financial controller will play a key role in ensuring robust, accurate and timely financial information across the business. The role is hands-on andmercially focused, working closely with operational and project teams.
Key areas of focus include:
6. Ownership of monthly management accounts,mentary and variance analysis
7. Production of weekly cashflow forecasts
8. Stock and inventory accounting, including reconciliations and controls
9. Project accounting: WIP, accrued ie, cost tracking and margin analysis
10. Support with year-end preparation and audit readiness
11. Contribution to finance process and system improvements (ERP environment)
The Ideal CandidateThis role will suit a qualified accountant who isfortable stepping into a fast-moving SME environment and adding value immediately.
You will bring:
12. ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification (or equivalent experience)
13. Strong experience producing management accounts within an SME or project-based business
14. Exposure to stock, WIP and project accounting
15. Confidence working with ERP systems and advanced Excel
16. A practical, proactive and delivery-focused approach
