The Infrastructure directorate is accountable for the design, deployment, and in-life management of site infrastructure to meet safety, service, and deployment requirements, enabling EE/BT and Three to deliver optimal customer experiences at the lowest cost.
Reporting into the MBNL Infrastructure Directorate, the Design Authority team provides technical support to internal, EE/BT, and Three teams within their specific subject matter areas. They also support the publication of standards and design documentation to ensure consistency across all site works. This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week onsite at our Central Reading office.
What you will do:
1. Author technical documentation and peer review relevant partner documentation or brief responsible designers within the supply chain.
2. Support bi-monthly technical forums with partners, EE/BT, and Three.
3. Lead conclusions on requests for site-specific deviations from policy.
4. Serve as a technical authority over strategic documentation, owning documentation within specific Subject Matter Expert (SME) areas. Support the publication of design documentation to shape the design and maintenance of the MBNL network.
5. Act as a point of escalation for technical queries internally and from EE/BT and Three.
6. Review, discuss, and make judgments on site-specific concessions from project upgrades.
7. Identify and track potential network-wide defects, collaborating with other SMEs to mitigate risks across the MBNL site portfolio.
8. Coordinate with contractors, SMEs, and internal teams, using effective communication to facilitate project progress.
What we are looking for:
* Specialism in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Environmental fields through experience.
* Experience in technical document writing.
* Strong understanding of structural, mechanical, or civil systems.
* Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and publicly available technical guidance.
* Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration at all levels.
Nice to have:
* HNC or degree-level qualifications in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Environmental engineering disciplines.
* Experience in telecoms infrastructure.
* Full driving license.
* Member of relevant engineering councils or institutions.
