All About the Role
Based at our C Roberts Steel Services Site in Rotherham, we have vacancies for General Steels Operatives on our rotating shift pattern, the hours as follows:-
Days: Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00.
Nights: Monday to Thursday 21:00 to 06:00 Friday 19:00 to 03:00
Afternoons: Monday to Thursday 13:00 to 21:00 Friday 12:00 to 20:00
The purpose of these roles is to ensure customers’ orders are fulfilled to the highest standards in a fast-paced environment. Specific tasks could include:
1. Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large item
2. Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment.
3. Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and on your own.
4. Operate saws and handle steel
5. Transferring stock to its location using a Forklift trucks, side loaders and cranes.
6. Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders.
7. Maintain high levels of Health and Safety.
8. Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements.

Essential Skills for the role:
17. The successful candidate will have experience with bandsaws/similar machinery
18. Be mechanically minded
19. Have a flexible attitude, be results oriented, and enjoy working in a team environment
20. Ideally have operated Cranes, Fork-Lift and Side-loader, however this is not essential
21. Health & Safety awareness
22. The successful candidate will have experience with bandsaws/similar machinery.
