Are you a reliable and enthusiastic Science Technician looking to support the next generation of scientists? Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a number of secondary schools in Northampton seeking an organised and proactive Science Technician to join their science departments from September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a friendly and forward-thinking team, providing essential support to teachers and students across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Your role will involve:
1. Preparing, setting up, and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials for practical lessons
2. Supporting teaching staff with science demonstrations and experiments
3. Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed, including COSHH and risk assessments
4. Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining lab records
5. Assisting with the safe disposal of chemicals and maintaining clean, functional lab spaces
We're looking for someone who:
6. Has previous experience working in a school lab or a scientific/technical setting (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
7. Has a sound understanding of laboratory safety and procedures
8. Is organised, methodical, and confident handling scientific equipment
9. Works well as part of a team and supports a positive learning environment
10. Has excellent communication skills and attention to detail
