Application Scientist / Support Engineer – Gas Analysis May Suit Recent Graduate Hybrid working 4 days site / 1 day offsite We are looking for an Application Scientist / Support Engineer to join our growing Gas Analysis team, providing global technical and commercial support across a wide range of industries. You’ll be working with cutting-edge technologies including Gas Chromatographs, Process Gas Analysers, and Laser Analysers, supporting customers across sectors such as natural gas, refining, power, chemicals, food & beverage, and life sciences. The Role In this customer-facing role, you’ll work closely with our global sales teams and customers, acting as a technical expert throughout the full product lifecycle. You’ll help configure solutions, answer complex technical queries, support pre-sales activity, and provide training and advice to ensure customers get the right solutions for their applications. Key Responsibilities Support sales teams with pre-sales technical input and customer discussions. Provide in-depth product knowledge on gas analysis equipment and technologies. Deliver training to sales offices and partners on product features, application selection, and pricing. Collaborate with sales offices to configure tailored solutions for customer applications. Stay up to date with market trends, competitor products, and industry regulations to support product positioning and sales success. Maintain high standards of customer care in line with company values. What You’ll Need Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related scientific discipline. Solid understanding of gas analysis principles and measurement technologies. Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office; CRM knowledge a plus. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Preferred (but not essential) 2-3 years’ experience in technical or sales support roles, ideally within gas analysis or instrumentation. Hands-on experience with gas analysis equipment. Knowledge of spectroscopic techniques (IR, UV-Vis), sampling systems, and relevant safety standards (ISO, ATEX). Familiarity with process gas measurement conditions and sample handling.
