More about your role
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be site based at The University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield. In respect to electrical repairs you will also be carrying out a vast amount of maintenance tasks including but not limited to, painting, decorating, blockages, toilet seats, lamp changes, deliveries, furniture breakages and room lockouts fire alarm testing, Fire warden and general maintenance reactive tasks.
The accommodation houses up to 3,111 residents in 3,011 self-catered rooms, within 6 Courtyards. Our newer style accommodation was built between 2014 and 2016 and pre-existing in 1994. Rooms vary from ensuite with shared kitchen facilities, studios with kitchenettes or flats and houses with shared bathrooms and kitchens. Alongside this is the Oval Accommodation Office, from which the team operates. The Oval houses, offices a gym and student common room and event spaces. There are also sports pitches and recreational facilities to be maintained.
You will be expected to work in a multitasking manner and therefore as well as developing the core skills central to your role, you will be expected and need to gain experience across a range of other duties as directed by your line management. You will be given responsibility for certain tasks across the site in Hertfordshire. We expect a flexible approach to deliver best value, which may involve at times working on other sites.

More about you
There is a highly technical and important role and therefore there is some criteria that you will need to be able to meet in order for us to progress your application further. You will need to demonstrate in your CV/application that you possess:
1. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Installation
2. City and Guilds 2391 incorporating 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations
3. Experience of conducting Fixed Wiring inspections
4. Experience and/or knowledge of working in buildings maintenance
5. An understanding of the importance of health and safety in the work place
6. Positive approach to engaging with customers
7. A full and current UK driving licence
