Job Summary
Key duties include washing and preparing ingredients, accurately measuring portions, managing stock and deliveries, performing cleaning duties, and rotating stock to minimise waste. This entry-level role is designed to provide on-the-job training and experience, helping aspiring chefs develop the skills needed to progress to more senior positions. Key Responsibilities
* Food Preparation: Accurately measuring ingredients, chopping vegetables, and preparing other components as directed by senior chefs.
* Basic Cooking: Performing simple cooking tasks and assisting with the preparation of dishes.
* Hygiene and Safety: Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations, and performing cleaning tasks.
* Stock Management: Receiving food deliveries, checking stock levels, and rotating existing produce to prevent spoilage.
* Kitchen Operations: Assisting in keeping the kitchen organised and efficient, especially during busy periods.
* Learning and Development: Learning from experienced chefs and taking on a variety of tasks across different kitchen sections to gain broad experience.
* Following Standards: Cooking and presenting food according to standardised recipes and the quality expectations of the establishment.
