Deputy Theatre Lead– Endoscopy and Surgical Department Oxford Hospital
Contract: Fixed Term Maternity Leave Cover | Part Time | 30 hours per week | Up to £47,000 (pro‑rata depending on experience)
We are looking for a clinical leader to help build a healthier nation. The successful candidate will be registered with the appropriate governing body and possess relevant qualifications and post‑registration experience in surgery/anaesthetics, including experience as a Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner.
Responsibilities
* Conduct and organise the Clinical/Surgical and Endoscopy team within the theatre, ensuring smooth running of theatre lists and booking forms and assisting sessions in theatres.
* Work collaboratively and flexibly across theatre suites to accommodate the service demands of Endoscopy, General, Orthopaedics and Gynae departments.
* Promote effective clinical risk management and governance, including safety, risk management, quality improvement and ensuring policies and procedures enhance patient care and service delivery.
* Maintain extensive knowledge required for audits, equipment and surgical techniques, including associated equipment.
* Lead continuous growth and personal development opportunities, such as Surgical First Assist training.
Qualifications & Skills

1. Registered with appropriate governing body.
2. Relevant qualifications and post‑registration experience in surgery/anaesthetics.
3. Experience as a Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner.
4. Strong clinical leadership, good communication and organisational skills.
5. Knowledge of running a smooth and effective department and managing equipment.
