About The Role Morrison Energy Services is currently looking to recruit a SHEQ Advisor to work on our UKPN Contract. This role will be regionally based in the Eastern area, and ideally would suit someone based in the Stevenage area. The role will provide Health, Safety and environmental support to our operational teams.
As a SHEQ Advisor you will be a key part of our SHEQ team who provide expert advice, assistance and guidance with regards to the management of health, safety and environmental issues. This role will incur travel throughout East Anglia, the East and Southern regions.
As a SHEQ Advisoryour responsibilities will include:
1. Monitor direct employees and sub-contractors via site inspection and management audits
2. Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. risk assessments, risk management, fire safety, CDM regulations, hazardous substances, noise and machinery
3. Assist and advise the operational and management team to maintain and further develop the management systems and operational practices
4. Liaison with external bodies including the Health and Safety Executive, Clients and other stakeholders as directed by the SHEQ Manager
5. Support incident management & investigation process
6. Present toolbox talks, team talks and appropriate SHE training materials about health, safety and environmental issues and risks
7. Deliver induction training to operatives and new starters
8. Act as a role model in support of the MES and Alliance visions, priorities and values
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
9. NEBOSH General or Construction certificate
10. Knowledge and experience of CDM Regulations
11. Previous experience as a Safety Advisor in a construction environment (Utilities experience desirable)
12. Environmental Qualifications – desirable
13. Consistently demonstrate high standards of safety behaviour, leading by example and promoting a positive safety culture
14. Ability to influence at all levels
15. Ability to manage potential conflict during site inspections with operational teams
16. Capable of delivering confident articulate presentations
17. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel
18. Full driving licence and willingness to travel
