Astute's Power team is partnering with a highly successful and busy engineering company focused on providing engineering solutions to recruit a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for their office based in Wickford, Essex.
The Health, Safety & Environmental Manager role offers a highly competitive salary up to £50,000 (DOE), plus a company van and bonus scheme.

Responsibilities and duties:
* Manage the HSE strategy, including policies, guidelines, and management systems.
* Monitor and report on HSE procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Assist other departments and clients in addressing HSE issues.
* Lead safety audits internally and externally.
* Conduct accident and incident investigations, including trend analysis for improvements.
* Provide safety consultations to managers.
* Deliver in-house HSE training.
* Perform HSE audits on subcontractors.
* Prepare HSE documentation for new tenders.
* Support outages and projects on client sites, which may require travel and working away from home.
Professional qualifications:
* Minimum five years of relevant experience in a similar role within sectors such as Power Generation, COMAH, Refineries, or Process Plants.
* NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent industry qualification.
* Ideally, a minimum of Grad IOSH.
* Experience in HSE Management, including ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001.
* Full clean driving licence.

* Able to influence with gravitas and gain buy-in at all levels.
* Positive and proactive approach to HSE.
* Confident, self-motivated, and ambitious.
* Flexible to work away from home.
* Familiar with complex engineering projects and potential hazards.
