The role
We're recruiting a Security Team Leader to oversee a team of Protection Officers supporting a prestigious client within the Aviation & Manufacturing sector. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for delivering a safe, secure and resilient manufacturing environment while maintaining exceptional service standards.
You'll lead by example, manage day-to-day operations, and play a key role in incident response, team performance and client satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
8. Lead and support the on-site security team, ensuring effective resourcing and absence management
9. Maintain agreed service levels and escalate risks or issues to the Operations Manager
10. Build strong working relationships with the client and internal stakeholders
11. Oversee security operations including access control, patrols, control room and CCTV activity
12. Take a leadership role during security, safety and emergency incidents
13. Monitor officer performance, addressing low-level issues in line with company processes
14. Manage training requirements and compliance records for the team
15. Support employment relations matters on site as required
16. Ensure all site instructions, policies and procedures are followed
17. Promote Mitie's values, professionalism and a strong safety culture
Training & development
You'll complete mandatory and specialist training including:
First Aid (FREC 3), fire safety, aviation security, control room and CCTV operations, spill response and emergency procedures.
Health & safety
18. Ensure compliance with all company and client H&S policies
19. Report hazards, incidents and equipment defects promptly
20. Promote safe working practices and correct use of PPE
Person specification
Essential:
21. Proven experience in a security leadership or supervisory role
22. Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (CCTV licence or willingness to obtain)
23. Excellent communication and customer service skills
24. IT literate (Microsoft Office)
25. Full UK driving licence and access to transport
26. Right to work in the UK with 5-year checkable background
27. British nationality or 5 years UK residency (CTC clearance requirement)
28. Calm, professional and effective under pressure
Desirable:
29. Aviation security experience
30. Fire safety experience
31. First Aid qualification (FREC 3 or willingness to obtain)
