Overview
We are looking for a Lead Business Analyst with strong Payments expertise to support major transformation initiatives, including the replacement of a legacy General Ledger system. You will act as the bridge between business and technology teams while leading a small BA group to produce high‑quality analysis and requirements.
Details:
Location – London
Hybrid – 2 days / week in the London office
Rate - £650-£700 / day Inside IR35
Duration – Initial 6 months – extensions likely
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and coordinate BA deliverables and mentor junior analysts
2. Define and document requirements for payments systems and integrations
3. Run workshops, produce user stories, and ensure alignment to target architecture
4. Create process maps, data flows, acceptance criteria, and impact assessments
5. Support testing teams and manage analysis‑related risks and dependencies
Essential Skills
6. Strong experience as a Senior/Lead BA on large IT change programmes
7. Experience leading or coordinating BA teams
8. In‑depth knowledge of Payments processes (BACS, CHAPS, SEPA, SWIFT, Instant Payments)
9. Understanding of ISO20022 and SWIFT MT messaging
10. SQL experience for data analysis and validation
11. Ability to translateplex technical concepts into clear requirements
12. Excellentmunication and stakeholder management
13. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence
Desirable
14. Experience with finance‑platform or ledger transformation
15. Technical literacy (APIs, XML, message flows)
