Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) - Nights
Salary: £54,000
Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (Night Shifts). 1 Saturday night shift every 4 weeks.
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x.
Role Overview
A multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias is required to support night‑shift operations within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The role focuses on ensuring machinery reliability, reducing downtime, and providing engineering support to production teams during night operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on production equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults to restore equipment performance quickly and safely.
- Conduct routine inspections, safety checks, and technical adjustments on machinery.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reliability, efficiency, and safety.
- Record maintenance activities and ensure compliance with engineering and site procedures.
- Respond effectively to breakdowns, working independently during night shifts.
- Collaborate with daytime engineering teams to ensure effective handovers.
Required Skills & Experience
- Time‑served engineer with electrical bias and multi‑skilled capability.
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or processing environments.
- Strong diagnostic skills across electrical systems (motors, sensors, drives, control panels).
- Competent in mechanical fault‑finding and repair.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload during night operations.
- Awareness of health & safety standards and safe working practices.
