We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Support Medical Secretary to join our secretarial team within the Breast and Endocrine Surgery department. The role requires resilience and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced professional environment.
You will work alongside an established team of Medical Secretaries, playing a pivotal role in supporting the secretarial team to ensure timely completion of tasks. Responsibilities include typing clinic letters, chasing results, and providing support for the secretaries and the service.
Applicants should possess good communication and organisational skills, be well-organised, flexible, and able to use their initiative to prioritise workload. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and audio typing skills are essential. The role involves daily communication with patients, consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, requiring exceptional verbal and non-verbal skills.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing day-to-day support to the PA/Medical Secretary team.
2. Updating and inputting patient information into systems and spreadsheets.
3. Booking, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments and clinics.
4. Monitoring clinic capacity.
5. Completing actions from correspondence and requests received.
