We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join an extremely busy Manufacturing Engineering client based in Burnley. This position has been created due to an increased work load and the client is looking to grow its current team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a Purchasing role within an engineering / manufacturing environment with experience in taking ownership of their of portfolio of products Experience working with subcontract Fabrication supplier is highly advantageous. CIPS qualifications are desirable but not essential The company are manufacture to order, not high volume so the ability to run multiple projects at once is a must.You will need to ensure that all purchase orders are placed to ensure materials arrive in a timely manner to meet demand. Interested candidates have solid experience using ERP systems- IFS Experience is highly advantageous. Hours - Hours 5 days on site flexible start/finish times available Role Description To review MRP system information daily and take appropriate actions on agreed stock levels. To identify mutually beneficial opportunities for new supplier agreements and implement these seeking to agree improvements to pricing and call-off processes. To place and expedite purchase orders where necessary. To ensure that all issues requiring escalation are escalated in a timely manner to minimise the knock-on effects on production. To take ownership stock control of all raw materials. To actively benchmark with market suppliers to ensure the business is always getting the best market value on materials. Liaise regularly with Commercial and Planning departments to ensure purchased parts remain aligned to production capacity. To ensure, through close liaison with the Planning department, that issues such as Returns are processed effectively and in a timely manner. Ensure quality and performance of supplier materials/parts fall in line with acceptable standards Implement and monitor supplier performance using procurement KPI, supplier audit and annual reviews Ensure all procurement activities are carried out in line with health, safety and environmental requirements Skills & Attributes Demonstrable experience within a Purchasing role within an engineering/ manufacturing environment. Experience working with Fabrication/ Subcontract Fabrication is highly advantageous Ability to prioritise workload and manage work pressure. CIPS qualified - Desirable Strong working knowledge of ERP Systems IFS advantageous Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook literate. Excellent communication skills.
