Engineering Doctorate in Composite Manufacture
Join to apply for the Engineering Doctorate in Composite Manufacture role at National Composites Centre.
About The Role
The University of Bristol is offering six doctoral projects, one in collaboration with the National Composites Centre (NCC), starting September 2025. The focus is on creating sustainable and efficient solutions for the design of composite structures. These projects are part of the new Centre in Doctoral Training (CDT) launched in 2024, building on previous successful centres in Bristol Composites Institute (BCI). The CDT aims to train future leaders with skills in the design, manufacture, and assurance of composite products. Alongside research, students will undertake a taught programme on composite materials with an emphasis on sustainability and the circular economy, complemented by a professional development programme to prepare for careers in industry or academia.
We seek highly motivated individuals interested in conducting industrially relevant research and developing new manufacturing routes, design concepts, analysis procedures, and solutions for composite materials and structures. An open day will be held at the University of Bristol on 29th April 2025, providing an opportunity to meet current students, discuss projects, and tour facilities. Interested applicants should complete the expression of interest form.
