Job Summary
We are seeking an organised, motivated, and compassionate Administrative Support worker to join our specialist Continence Service. This essential role ensures the smooth and efficient running of the service, supporting clinicians and patients by providing high‑quality administrative support.
The position plays a key role in delivering a positive experience for those accessing bladder and bowel services. Responsibilities include managing the ordering of products, referrals, maintaining accurate records, and providing general administrative support to the clinical team.
This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, keen attention to detail, and a passion for supporting person‑centred healthcare. Main duties of the job
* Manage incoming product assessments and order forms ensuring accurate data entry
* Book and coordinate patient appointments, clinics, and follow‑up visits
* Act as the first point of contact for patients, carers, and professionals
* Provide clear, sensitive communication about continence service processes
* Maintain and update patient records, databases, and correspondence
* Support clinicians with administrative tasks, document preparation, and clinic organisation
* Handle telephone enquiries, emails, and service inboxes professionally
* Order stock, manage deliveries, and maintain equipment registers
* Support the team with audit data, reports, and service improvement projects
* Uphold confidentiality, data protection, and professional standards at all times
Person Specification
Essential
* Efficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and intranet
* Able to manage own workload and work autonomously as part of a team
* Demonstrate commitment to continuing personal and professional development
Desirable
* Previous admin experience in an NHS environment
* Experience with Trust IT packages such as Harris Flex, T‑Pro, Evolve
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Experienced and competent minute‑taking
Qualifications & Education
Essential
* Good general education. Minimum GCSE English and Mathematics grade A‑C or equivalent
