Express Recruitment are proud to be representing an Engineering Technology Company based in North Leicestershire who are looking to hire a Electrical Installation & Project Engineer to join their team of engineering professionals and deliver on key electrical and integrated system projects across the transportation industry.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team to ensure the installation of electrical systems as part of project delivery, including all aspects from pre-work surveys through to sign off for completion. They will plan projects, support key delivery stages, develop projects plans, and work with suppliers and internal teams all whilst ensuring Health and Safety is maintained on project sites.
Their ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar role within the transportation or Rail industry. They will have a strong background in auto-electrical works, be able to lead a team, and have experience working with systems including CCTV, PIS, CIS, Networks, SCADA and/or APC.
Please Note: Due to travelling to client sites, a full clean UK driving licence will be required to reply for this role.
For the position, they are offering a competitive salary of up to c£48,000 per annum D.E alongside a generous and comprehensive benefits package including 33 days holiday (including stats), up to £6k car allowance OR a company van, pension scheme, life assurance (2x basic salary), employee assistant programme, and more!
Plan projects from the outset, working closely with hardware and software suppliers
Select, test and configure solutions in collaboration with technical and installation teams
Create installation documentation and lead rollout teams, often made up of contractors
Develop project goals based on initial proposals and agreed delivery plans
Confirm system performance through audits, testing, and validation processes
Keep project timelines on track and address delays or issues as they arise
Promote and maintain safe, clean working environments across all project sites
Work with suppliers and internal teams to reduce risk and stay within budget
Provide cover for other Project Engineers during periods of absence
Travel within the UK and occasionally overseas, depending on project needs
Fully electrical engineering apprenticeship or HNC equivalent
City & Guilds 2365 Level 3 in Electrical Installations highly desirable
Demonstrable experience in carrying out industrial electrical installations, such as control panels. Signalling systems, CCTV, control panels and surveillance systems
Previous project engineering experience, ideally within the Rail sector but not essential
Strong background in auto-electrical work, preferably gained in field-based environments
Experience leading or coordinating teams, including subcontractors, is highly beneficial
Familiarity with rail industry standards and delivering work to industry requirements
Experience working with systems such as CCTV, PIS, CIS, networks, SCADA or APC is an advantage
Full, clean UK driving licence
