When there is a fire, flood or severe weather, we're among the first to respond. From making a cup of tea to trekking through snow and sleet to deliver the essentials, we work with other organisations to do what's needed straight away. You must be located within 30 minutes of Thameside fire station (DA11 8NT). This is a 24 hour service and volunteers will need to be available when on call. We would like volunteers who; - Be able to volunteer on a regular basis. - Can commit to a minimum of 2 x 12hr shifts per month. - Have held a driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive in the UK and have access to own vehicle. Be confident driving a large British Red Cross vehicle or leased vehicle. - Are able to attend monthly in person team meetings. - Are available to undertake required e-learning modules and Zoom training sessions in the first few months of volunteering plus other service specific trainings as required. - Can commit to volunteering for at least 12 months. *Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
