Role Title: Lecturer in Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering.

Contract Type: Permanent, Full time
Salary: £33,596 - £51,932
We currently have a vacancy for a lecturer in Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering.
Within the role, you will be responsible for performing scheduled teaching, preparing learning materials, marking students work and liaising with awarding bodies and exam invigilation as required. Providing valuable educational guidance, support and counselling for students and acting as a personal tutor when required, you must complete and produce agreed deadlines documentation such as; registers, schemes of work, records of work, course review, course analysis documentation, student reports, absence reports and course files.
You will deliver City and Guilds Performing Engineering Operations Level 1 up to Level 3 and City and Guilds Technical Certificate Level 1 up to Level 3. Qualified to at least Level 3 in a relevant specialist subject area, the successful candidate will possess or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification and be capable of recognising and making students aware of their strengths and development needs. We’re looking for an individual who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and who displays energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment.
Essential Requirements
1. Qualified to at least Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject
2. Candidates must be a qualified teacher (PGCE, Cert Ed etc) or willing to gain this within 2 years of appointment
3. Awareness of the quality standards within teaching
4. Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and keep up to date
5. Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and support within a learning environment
6. Able to analyse and use key information to inform teaching and learning
Welsh skills are desirable for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service.
