Production Supervisor
Are you an experienced leader who thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment? Do you excel at maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and team performance? Heidelberg Materials is looking for a dedicated Production Supervisor to support the safe and efficient day‑to‑day operation of our quarry.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a major industrial site while contributing to the delivery of high‑quality materials to our customers.
About the Role
As Production Supervisor, you will work closely with the Site Manager to oversee daily quarry operations, ensuring they run safely, smoothly, and efficiently. You will lead by example, uphold strict health and safety standards, liaise with customers and colleagues, and support the effective management of people, plant, and processes.
You will also play an important role in quality assurance, contractor management, maintenance planning, and operational reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
• Ensure all activities comply with statutory legislation and company SHE Management Systems
• Support the Site Manager in implementing SHE procedures across the operation
• Lead by example, promoting safe working practices at all times
• Hold the statutory appointment under Section d) of the Quarries Regulations 1999
• Complete and audit daily safety inspections
• Assist with contractor control including inspections, method statement adherence, and safe working checks
• Ensure weekly geotechnical inspections are completed
Customer & Quality Assurance
• Ensure all materials meet customer specifications and quality standards
• Promote a positive customer experience through professional site engagement
• Liaise closely with customers, Trading, and Premix teams to ensure effective service
• Promote the benefits of Heidelberg Materials Aggregates through quality products and reliable service
General Management
• Support purchasing of spares, materials, and services in a cost‑effective manner
• Assist with Period End Profit Estimations through accurate stock data, production analysis, and expenditure information
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure servicing and repairs align with the site maintenance plan
• Foster positive communication between employees and management, escalating issues when necessary
• Identify training needs and ensure new starters receive proper induction and on‑the‑job training
• Support fraud prevention measures
• Maintain strong relationships with local neighbours and report any complaints to the Site Manager
• Ensure land, roads, and buildings on site remain in good condition and present a professional image
