Job Description Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon Salary: Up to £68,000 (depending on experience and rota) plus £2k welcome bonus and up to £5k relocation package (for direct applicants) Location: Avonvale Veterinary Centres, Warwickshire Job Type: Permanent, full-time (part-time applicants are welcome) Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days, plus a share of the weekend rota either 1:3 Saturdays or a 17-week rota consisting of: 1: full weekend 8:30am-6.30pm, 2 Saturday mornings 8:30am-1pm and 1 Saturday morning for 2 hours. Avonvale Veterinary Centre might just be the perfect fit for you Avonvale Veterinary Centre was established over 45 years ago and we have since grown to a 7-site practice. We have a highly experienced team of 30 vets and 40 nurses with a diverse range of certificate holders. We are keen to offer our vets support and mentorship to explore and complete further CPD and certification in their area of choice. Being a large site, we can accommodate different interests across our branches, we currently have positions at our Southam clinic as well as a shared role across our other sites. Our Southam site was purpose-built in 2011 and has been the local vets in Southam since 1975. The site boasts a well-established team of vets and nurses, all of whom have a wealth of professional experience and interests. There is a particular focus on feline medicine and the clinic is currently working towards ISFM gold level feline friendly practice. The clinic is well equipped with X-ray, dental X-ray, Ultrasound, and a dental suite. All of our other sites are similarly equipped ‘stand-alone’ general practices. Our Kenilworth site is equipped and staffed for a large orthopaedic caseload as well as offering chemotherapy. Our Stratford and Heathcote sites have laparoscopic facilities and our Wellesbourne clinic has a hydrotherapy treadmill. Our dedicated night service is situated at our central hospital site in Warwick providing case continuity. The out-of-hours service only supports our own clients` pets ensuring that our patients receive a high level of care. The vet team is led by 4 Clinical Directors who ensure that individuals feel supported and that teams collaborate and encourage discussion in regular case discussion and vet meetings. Many of our vets provide ‘in house CPD’ and we run our own regular in-house ultrasound training. We are a very close-knit team and have both a summer social, visits from Annie’s Antics ice cream van and a Christmas party each year.
