Position Title: Body Test Operations IPC Engineer \n\nDuration: Contract \n\nLocation: Gaydon\n\n£33.82phr INSIDE IR35\n\n*Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.*\n\nAbout the company\n\nI am currently recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive OEM, based in Gaydon, who are seeking a Body Test Operations IPC Engineer to join their team\n\nDuties: \n\nThe Body Test Operations (BTO) team is responsible for planning and managing physical prototype test properties that support the development and approval of body components for the Clients' programmes.\nThese properties, often referred to as 'rigs', typically consist of a painted body shell equipped only with the parts necessary for a specific test, rather than a fully assembled vehicle, and a number of supporting 'kits' of parts. \nFor some of the new models currently in development we're also planning, building and managing a large number of Instrument Panels & Floor Consoles (IP&Cs) assemblies to support development and sign-off testing. \nYou will be leading the activities relating to these IP&C properties.
\nResponsibilities will include (but not limited to);\nOverall end-to-end coordination and responsibility for two models worth of IP&C assemblies from planning through to delivery\nGathering and consolidation of the requirements from the engineering customers\nPlanning and management of Bills of Materials (BoM) for these assemblies, aligning them to the required build level and part maturities\nCoordination and management of parts ordering, rate and flow, part shortage meetings and issue resolution related thereto, particularly for content not yet released by engineering\nCoordination of (build planning, rate and flow etc) and support for property build, resolving issues and coordinating logistics of the properties into test \n\nEssential Skills:\n\nRobust and demonstrable Excel Skills with understanding of Bills Of Materials (BoMs) and CAD visualisation\nEngineering and testing background\nProject Management with Robust Cross-Functional Working\nAutomotive engineering build and/or test \n\nEducation: \n\nDegree level desired, but not essential.Why work through Contechs?\n\nContechs is a leading Automotive, Design, Engineering, Technology and Innovation Recruitment Consultancy.
