Our client is looking for a Highways Operative (Grade F) in the NE8 Region. A Highways Operative Grade F is a senior skilled worker responsible for carrying out and overseeing highway maintenance and repair works. The role includes tasks such as pothole repairs, drainage work, kerbing, traffic management setup, and operating specialist plant and vehicles. At Grade F level, the operative may lead a small team on site, ensure health and safety compliance, complete necessary paperwork, and support supervisors while responding to routine and emergency highway issues. Main Duties: Pothole Repairs. Kerbing, Draining and footway repairs. Ironwork Reinstatement. Road markings & Signage Installation. Putting up Diversions, Temporary Traffic Lights, Road Closures, Cones & Barriers. Main Requirements: CSCS Card. Street Works Qualification. Trustworthy & Independent. Ability to work as a team & to lead a team. Good Knowledge of Health & Safety. Shift Patterns: Monday - Friday (7am - 3.30pm) Dress Code: Safety Boots, High Viz Jacket & Wet Weather Gear.
